The Redhill CC Roadies

The road section includes a number of groups based on strength, distance and average speed. Generally speaking, the range is from G1, an occasionally run ride of around 25-30 mile at 10-13 mph through to to G7 where the distance is 50-75 miles at an average of 20+ mph. Further details can be found on our app under Information - ‘Group Rides - which group suits you’. The groups are split into ‘social’ and ‘club’, the distinction being what you want to get out of your cycling experience. The ‘club’ ride groups are intended to provide a ladder for those wishing to progress and expand their cycling experience.

Each group is led by an experienced club member who selects the route each week and posts it on the app. Using notifications it is easy to keep in touch and know exactly what is planned for the upcoming ride as well as the coffee stop. Coffee and cake is a big thing in the club and using the large database of cafes around Surrey, Sussex and Kent there is no shortage of choices. Our rides generally stop for a break around half way or a bit further.

We put much store on good ride skills and group etiquette. You’ll find a handbook on the app (available to members only) setting out how we like to ride and we run training courses for people unfamiliar with group riding.
