The huge hills of Hampshire!

Oh boy, this was a hard one! A valiant ELEVEN Redhill riders were up at the crack of dawn to make the start and what a sight; 1500 riders clicking into their pedals for three distances 96, 69 and 44 miles.

Sean McAuliffe, Kaaren May, Simon & Lisa Deefholts, Stuart Greig, Chris Hall and myself opted for the 69 miles and I'm pretty sure as we passed the 44 mile point, we all wished we'd chosen that one; the hills were awesome and the rolling downs and chilly wind took it's toll.

Lisa, Kaaren, Chris, Stuart and I won silvers. Ian Taylor and Simon Curlew looked pretty fresh at the finish but it wasn't easy. Ben did the 96 mile route and said it was not much fun; that's a lot of hills, at one point we could see the sea!

Sean got a gold, we're waiting for the full results to see who else made the medals but we all finished and I am full of admiration for all of you who entered this scenic but hard days cycling.

There was a great atmosphere at the finish (those free mugs of tea the best we've ever tasted) with free T shirts, hot food and a party atmosphere. I was wondering if we'd ever leave!!

One more big Sportive to go, Dunsfold on the 11th October, book now, it will sell out fast.
