Redhill riders went 2-by-2... to Borde Hill

After the deluge of rain during the week, on Saturday and overnight, it was open to question if anyone would brave the floods to turn out on Sunday morning... but Woodhatch Park was alive and throbbing with activity.

Twelve riders joined the Sunday Club Ride to Borde Hill garden near Haywards Heath - while Geoff Clifton led an extra group non-stop in a different direction.

The River Mole had burst its banks at Flanchford Bridge and we rode through puddles, floods, flotsam, jetsam and debris everywhere. We even noticed a couple of trees down from the storms. The cafe at Borde Hill was excellent as usual and proved again to be one of our better stops.

Unfortunately Ian punctured just afterwards which resulted in a long delay and we were then playing catch up so decided to head the direct route back to Reigate.

It was great to see Brian Costello back after his awful shoulder injury and looking strong plus the ever improving, svelte Nick Curran.

Also quite a sight to see Mario on his "stealth bomber" complete with 63 sprocket chainring. How does he get that up a hill..?? You don't see many bikes like that on a club run! Many thanks to Jim for helping out with leading.

(ps. The tree in the picture was OK on the flat but really struggled on the hills)
