Kingston Phoenix RC 10m TT Report

The third TT in the Club TT Series (of which our cancelled Redhill TT would have been the first) was hosted by Kingston Phoenix Road Club on Saturday afternoon.

The course was G10/42 which is an out and back on the A24 with the start and finish in North Holmwood.

It is a reasonably fast course with a few bumps, the biggest incline of which is just after the start.

The Redhill CC lineup for this event featured David Motton, Leigh Smithers and Rupert Burbidge.

The outward leg was quite tough as there was a surprisingly considerable headwind! My average speed was 5mph slower on the outward leg compared to the return (with not much change in altitude either way).

We put in a good show and Redhill CC came second in the club ranking for the event after first place team RT316.

I managed to finish in joint 4th place with a time of 21'49". This was the first time I have ever placed in a scratch competition, previously only ever placing in a handicap competition.

Dave and Leigh finished 19th and 30th respectively in a field of around 70 riders.

Richard Prebble of Motorpoint - Marshalls Pasta RT won first place with a time of 21'22".
