Sunday jaunt to Petworth

Five riders left Woodhatch on Sunday morning. We collected Cheryl at Capel and continued via Weare Street, Ellens Green and Dunsfold. A few miles from Lurgashall we hit a rollercoaster which prepared us for some serious hill climbing for five miles along the lane which borders Petworth Park.

Our usual tea stop was closed but Graham knew an alternative; no hot food but a good selection of scones and cakes. Suitably refreshed, we headed back via Kidford, Loxwood, Ewhurst Green and Ockley.

Seventy five miles (80 if you started like me in Redhill) in good company at a social pace averaging 14.3 mph, and we were home before the rain set in. Is there a better way to spend Sunday?
