Strictly for the birds

We went out via Rusper, Warnham and Broadbridge Heath. A short stretch of the A264 to climb Bashurst Hill heading for West Chitlington. Shortly afterwards, Dave Gill turned off to get home for lunch. The rest of us continued to the tea stop. We set off again accompanied by rolls of thunder. After 30 minutes, the deluge caught us. By the time we found some shelter, everyone was soaked through. The climb up from Fittleworth warmed us up again; by the time we reached Wisborough Green the sun was out. The ride back via Weare Street was uneventful, apart from the laughter at the soap bubbles emanating from Nick's backside - at least there's the evidence that he does wash out his shorts!
