Descending in spirals

And why? Well an hour of structured group turbo training is one of the best ways you can spend 60 minutes of your week and have a good bet that it's going to benefit you throughout the year. Well, perhaps not one session, but once a week and for sure by the time Spring comes around.

The descending spiral offers you 2 mins of sustained hard effort, quick cadence, 9 out of 10. Then 2 mins recovery. Then a bit short 1.45 hard effort, 1.45 recovery. It gets harder as the efforts get shorter because the recoveries do too.

Why? To help the body and brain to get used to putting in those hard efforts again and again in quick succession.

Thanks to all who took part. Barry, Peter, Brian and the mainstay of the group, Mike (who's been there since the first before Christmas) plus Robert S who deserves a special mention for averaging over 20mph for an hour. If he keeps this up into TTs this year, watch out all those on the handicap trail. Maybe you should be there too!
