Miles better

The roads were wet, the skies dark and the clouds threatening as 20 riders lined up for week 4.

 

Following a top 10 placing in last weeks Surrey League race on the same circuit an in-form Alan Miles was the rider of the week, winning both the handicap and road bike competitions.

 

 

Maurice won the scratch, followed by Nick Davy and Steve Bryant:

Alan narrowly won the handicap with a second over Stuart Metcalfe, followed by Nathan. Geoff Clifton, a dry derriere aficionado, deployed mudguards to his cost.

In the vets Nick Davy took victory with a clear margin over an impressive Stuart Metcalfe in 2nd, and Steve Bryant in 3rd.

In the road bike competition Alan cleaned up, followed by Norman Blisset competing in his first ever time trial and Geoff Clifton, a veteran of many.

Catherine Gaskell was the sole female entrant this week, recording a very competitive womens road bike time. We'll tempt you onto a TT bike soon Cat.

 

Freddie Davy was also the sole 12-15 entrant, finishing with a 7 second improvement over the float conditions of last week.
