Cold morning start didnt deter the participants. But Network Rail threw us a curve ball by closing Gomshall Station car park.
17 riders meant a pretty big group, but we kept up a good pace across Abinger Roughs. Then the long climb up Wolverns Lane then past Cold Harbour cricket pitch to the Tower. I avoided a mutiny about not being allowed a tea stop and we launched off down Summer Lightening. The dry trails made for a fast decent to test our skills. Another climb up to the tower again (and I let them have cake this time!).
Finally the long run the full length down of Summer Lighting and Wolverns Lane. Then home to pick up whereever we had managed to park.
A pretty simple ride. But two big climbs and twice down Summer Lightening on a nice dry track meant for an almost perfect ride.
