A summer challenge suggested five and half months earlier had finally arrived.
Rude awakening at 3am, register at 4:15 (with 400+ other riders), the clock was ticking.
With three training rides under our belts and Matthew's groovy support van ready to keep us fed, watered and entertained, the sun (apparently) rose at 4:39 and we were off.

The opening miles almost felt like a closed road event. The lumpy run of lanes into Sarf Landon, neatly coated with winter-style grit was a recipy for delays. We amassed a generous share of punctures, mechanicals and general confusion, so from Bromley onwards we were in full Saturday morning traffic.

A big thank you for all your excellent support you gave through out the day, think the tour boys would learn a trick or two.
Just watched the video you did and put together, brilliant! Especially the bits with Jo realising there was a camera and me getting my own back on her.
Top day in the saddle, still can't believe we covered 210 miles and all had fun.....ish doing it. Couldn't have been with a better group of riders to share the experience with.

Brilliant videos guys. Watched it a few times now and each time I end up with a big grin on my face. Especially the slo-mo sequence on the descent through the Gorge ;0)
Looking back, despite the long day in the saddle, the lack of sun (until the end anyway) and that ‘king 18%er chucked in at the end, I actually enjoyed the day as it was spent with a great bunch of people who like a laugh and love riding their bikes!!! Thanks everyone and thanks Matt for providing, by far, the best support vehicle amongst the peloton.

Great video. Thanks again Matt. I am surprised the video captured me smiling. Can't seem to remember much of that.
