Ride like a butterfly get stung by a wasp!!

Ten optimistic riders set off hoping to miss the rain and enjoy a mainly flat ride to Tunbridge Wells. We headed out over the A22 at Blindley Heath and settled into a good steady pace onto Leigh.

The last time we went to the Velohouse we had a really smooth ride and stopped to say hi to Sharon H as we passed her home en route. Not wanting to trouble Sharon again, no plans were made to present ourselves on her doorstep, but as we turned into her road there was Sharon in her car giving us a wave.

So with the omens in our favour, we made our way onto our tea stop and enjoyed various assortments of cake and bacon sandwiches, and sang happy birthday (I was one of two Redhill riders celebrating their big day on Saturday).

Having so far missed the rain, we were soon back on our way heading out to Langton Green and climbing up to Penhurst as we whizzed back to the Drome. No names mentioned yet so a warm welcome back to Jo who rode strongly and a get well soon to Andrew who was stung by a wasp on the lip as we neared the Drome, see pic on Strava.

A great ride and thanks to all for sticking together. And we missed the rain, just!!
