New route, new tea stop and new terrain.

Nine of us set off from the ‘Drome heading for a new cafe in Forest Row called Tablehurst Farm cafe. Amongst the collection of gleaming road bikes on show, we were graced with Mark E on his mountain bike. On a road ride I hear you say, but who said we weren't going off-road.

We headed out to Turner’s hill, onto Ardingly and then to Forest Row. Tablehurst Farm is tucked away, but is a real find. We enjoyed the usual assortment of cakes and sandwiches and although a bit chilly, we sat outside with blankets that were provided by the cafe.

We then set off towards Hartfield, but a tricky turning missed had us on a bridle path. But a couple of fields later, having decided it was best not to ride on the shooting range, we managed to pick up our route again after passing through a campsite. Then we were back on our way via Edenbridge to the ‘Drome.

A great ride. Thanks to Finlay for back marking and well done to Muneeb who had stepped up from G3 and rode well.

Tablehurst Farm will definitely be on my tea stop list, but maybe not the fields, although I think we enjoyed the off road bit.
