Ride Reigate

A group of Redhill riders entered the local Ride Reigate event held on Sunday 10th July which took us out to the Ashdown Forest and back over 100k.  Here we are at the start waiting for the go.  It is a great event, and a good time was had by all

G3 group ride to Ashdown Forest

On Saturday 18 June the G3 group ventured into Ashdown Forest and then on for tea at Penshurst. We started by cycling down the bridleway from Perrywood, then a hilly route via Copthorne, Turners Hill, Weir Wood Reservoir to Coleman’s Hatch and a view north towards the North Downs in the distance.  We stopped to take in the view before heading on through Hartfield and Cowden Station to Penshurst.  Lots of roads less travelled in recent years, plus a couple I don’t remember at all…..and that hill out of Penshurst, I’ll remember not to include that again!

Redhill CC goes to Herne Hill Velodrome

Nine club riders and three Raiders met up on Sat 21st May to ride the iconic outdoor velodrome in South London.  Under the expert eye of Joseph, our coach for the two hour stint, we learnt the basics of riding a fixed wheel track bike that does not have brakes.  These basics amounted to keep pedalling and using gravity and the banked track to slow down if you are a bit too close to your friend/rival in front of you.
