Gridiron 100 2012

A fantastic 'not a sportive but quite a bit like a really relaxing one' ride around the New Forest. No guarantee on the weather, but the last two years it has been absolutely beautiful, so I'm going to go out on a limb and predict it this year. Autumnal sunshine, golden colours in the trees picking out the best of the scenery, ponies and plenty of likeminded riders out, not to race, not to strain, but to simply enjoy a great ride at the very end of summer.

Also, the spread of food laid on at the end is worth going for, if nothing else!

Redhill YMCA Sportive

Redhill CC's own sportive in association with the Reigate & Redhill YMCA.

After last year's debut went so well, we're hoping many more will sign up for this testing event taking in many of the club's favourite routes and roads.

Great support from the YMCA, timing chips to record how you get on and a fantastic welcome back and goody bag at the end.

This is a 96 mile Sportive organised by Pearson from the Royal Marsden in Sutton down to Brighton and back. The route down joins the classic London to Brighton route at Chipstead and follows it all the way down to Palace Pier (so via Chipstead, Fanny's Farm Shop, Merstham, Coopers Hill. Copthorne, Turners Hill, Ardingly, Lindfield, Haywards Heath and Ditchling) and then back up. The back up is via Devils Dyke and the dreaded Spronkets Lane before hitting Tulley's in reverse and up to Headley, Epsom Downs and onto Sutton.
