Vernham Dean is a perfect Event HQ, located in the heart of the village giving access in every direction to quiet lanes, tracks and bridleways. Our routes make the best of these, accessing stunning trails, scenery and views. The trails are mainly ancient cart tracks of free draining gravel and stone with some grassy areas. We always include a memorable section of swooping twisty singletrack through beech woods which just seems to go on for miles.
Take the Long route for a great day of mixed riding or the Medium one which still includes the ‘Woods Section’ or combine the two and go for the Epic route (Hot Challenge only). You can decide during your ride exactly which route you want to follow, and then let us know at the end. The catering at this event is sublime, homemade cakes on offer all day and a BBQ and beer when you finish.
Route guide with distances and elevation profiles will be published on the website in the week preceding the event. However we may make last minute changes to the routes due to weather, access, road closures etc.
All riders receive an award if they finish and there is a pool of spot prizes from our sponsors which includes an MTB UK holiday weekend with Saddle Skedaddle the headline sponsor.
